(<--) Stupa and Stone Lanterns

Both the stupa and two stone lanterns are carving creations done by Mr. Kim Kwangyeol. He is a living treasure of Korea. The styles of the two lanterns originated in the Sil-Sang-Sa temple in Namwon, Korea. Both the stupa and the stone lanterns are made out of granite.

The stupa has a style of Suhk-Ga-Tap. Inside, a small portion of the relics of the Buddha are stored. The relic is donated from the Dalai Lama to the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. Dear Moon Jin Hee:

The small portion of the relics of the Buddha that His Holiness gave you are part of the relics that the 13th Dalai Lama kept with Him privately. These relics multiply by themselves and increase in number. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama brought them along with Him when He escapes to India in 1959.

I was to give this to you after the audience but had no time.

With best wishes,

Your Sincerely,

(Signed)
